The LED 1600EX - a high intensity underwater light, designed by the Predator ROV group to provide optimal lighting for underwater applications.
The light utilizes state-of-the-art LED technology which allows the light to produce 1600 lumens of white light at source. To enhance the light, Predator has interface electronics that monitor and control the LED output. The LED light has the ability to be controlled via RS232, RS485 or direct drive (on/off).
As part of the safety features of the light, the onboard electronics have an integrated thermal monitor which controls the output power of the LEDs in order to prevent overheating. The LEDs are laid in array of 3 clusters with each cluster containing 3 LEDs, each cluster producing 540 lumens.
The characteristics and specifications are:
| Lumens | 540 lm @ 700mA |
| Max Continuous Current | 1000 mA |
| Forward Voltage | 9.45 Vf |
| Dominant Wavelength | 6500K |
| LED Type | Tri-Emitter |
| Radiation Pattern | Lambertian |
LED 1600EX lights were designed to provide the best lighting for underwater applications. They are available as spare parts, separate components to be used in other applications, and have been included in the Predator ROV as standard equipment.
